Set in Green Belt, the existing site contained a dilapidated 1960’s bungalow which has been demolished in order to allow the construction of a contemporary eco-house.

The design has been developed to respond to the tight constraints set by local and national planning policy and the parameters of the site. The brief required a four bedroom dwelling with open plan living accommodation set around a private south facing terrace. The dwelling has been positioned within the contours of the site over two floors in order to fulfil the client’s brief yet also complies with the strict planning constraints on volume and height associated with new dwellings in Green Belt.

The sustainability strategy includes the use of photovoltaic panels, rain water harvesting and natural ventilation in order to achieve a low carbon dwelling.
